Will my personal information be passed to any third parties, without my permission?

We do not under any circumstances sell or share members contact details with any third parties.

Are there any hidden costs after registering to Date in the City?

It is free to sign up to Date in the City. By signing up it enables you to:

  1. Search other members
  2. See when other Members are online
  3. Wink at other Members
  4. Add Members to my favourites
  5. View Members profiles
  6. Email a profile to a friend

To send or receive a message, see more photos of other members, browse and send a gift, read members diaries you will need to upgrade to a full member. To upgrade to a full member follow the instructions once you are logged in.

What happens after I have signed up?

You can search members and contact anyone that you like by sending them a wink or a message. You could be wink or messaged by members to. Once you have initiated contact with someone it’s always good to get to know them before arranging your first date.

How do I know that there will be real members on the site?

We actively advertise on major search engines such as Google, each new member goes through an approval process to ensure they adhere to a certain criteria.

Are all members single?

On the initial sign up all members have the option to state whether they are Single, Married, Separated, in a relationship or divorced. The second option is to state what it is you are looking for and what kind of relationship.

What software requirements will I need for the use of this site?

Does my profile show immediately, or do I have to wait to be approved?

Once you have completed your sign up form and filled in your interests and like, what you are looking for your profile will be on show to other members immediately, you should when possible up load photographs clearly of yourself for a more likely chance of being contacted by other members.

Why do you need my post code?

This is purely so we can match you up with other members that live in close proximity to you.

Does it matter which email address I use and why do you need one?

A valid email address is needed to verify you’re identity and notify you of any incoming mails and offers.

Can I advertise on my profile?

Anyone found advertising in any form will be removed and barred immediately from DateintheCity.me


Are members pre-screened before becoming a member?

We do not have a pre screening process for current and joining members.

Can I block another member from contacting me?

Yes you can block another member by clicking on ignore member on that members profile page.


How do I send messages to other members?

Once on the members profile there is an option to click on re: send John a message, click this and type your message and select send once completed.

How do I read my messages?

Select the option my messages, if you have any outstanding messages they will be waiting to be clicked on.

Billing and Payments

What will show up on my bank statement?

You will be billed in the name of Global Personals

Can I pay over the phone rather than online?

Yes you can pay over the phone by contacting our friendly support staff between the hours of 9am-5pm GMT Only on 0203 468 2674

Are there any alternate ways of payment other than online?

We also accept payments via cheque and postal orders. If you wish to do this, please send a cheque/postal order made payable to Global Personals Ltd for 3 months or more membership to; Global Personals 1 High Street Windsor Berkshire SL4 1LD

Can I get a refund if I want to cancel before my membership has expired?

How do I cancel my membership?

If you'd like to cancel your membership please call 0800 987 5777 between 9am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday and we'll be happy to help you cancel your membership.

How do I extend my membership?

Your membership continues every month unless you inform us otherwise.

How do I know that my membership has expired?

Your membership does not expire.


Can I change my Username/Password?

If you wish to change your username / password at any time then please just supply support with your new information and they will update this for you. Please note that we do not accept nicknames on this site.
